A donation from Yeo Valley Lions has warmed the hands and feet of children using the youth centre in Yatton.

A cold winter has meant there has been chill in the air recently but no more thanks to the Lions’ grant which has paid for a new boiler.

The youth club, in Rock Road, has been raising funds for more than year so it can refurbish the centre.

The decision to axe funding for youth centres by North Somerset Council has meant it has been hard for the group to maintain its premises.

And that means donations, such as the one provided by Yeo Valley Lions, are all the more vital.

Youth worker Niccy Hook said: “Its gone from Frosty the Snowman to positively tropical at Yatton Youth Club.

“Yeo Valley Lions has generously supported us by supplying funding towards a desperately needed new boiler.

“Winters at the youth club are no longer a chilly affair and have made the youth club into a cosier place to be.”
