A Nailsea support group, which helps people suffering from cancer, has received more than £200 in donations.

Your Cancer Café in Nailsea was delighted to receive £120 from Sir Isaac Newton Lodge, which will pay for mugs for the regular visitors to use.

The mugs will be printed with the Your Cancer Café logo on them.

The second donation of £100 has come from The Monday Club, which will be used towards a day trip for those affected by cancer and the volunteers.

Jo Hopkinson, who set up the café, said: "It is hoped people can have a nice day with new friends and enjoy it without having to worry about hospital appointments and treatment and have a bit of fun and relaxation."

Your Cancer Café is held in Number 65, in High Street, and offers refreshments, crafts, support, friendship, activities, therapies and music.

The support group always meets on the third Thursday of every month from 2-5pm.
