AN ALTERNATIVE version of a traditional tale was performed by a group of creative youngsters in Clevedon.

Children taking part in workshops put on by Kingsley Speech and Drama were given free reign over the Puss in Boots show, which they performed at the group’s Old Church Road venue for friends and family.

With only the basic story to work with, the youngsters chose the characters they wanted to play, which included a goat, a monkey, a tiger and an angry bird, and what they should say. They also painted the set, created their own costumes and learnt dances and songs to perform, all in just five days.

The action included ghosts scaring away G4S and ended with a race to save the Olympic torch, light the cauldron and start the London games.
