MORE than 60 youngsters enjoyed an evening swim in Portishead Open Air Pool followed by a beach barbecue as part of the town’s Lakeside project.
The free event, organised by Portishead Youth Club in conjunction with the town council, was part of a project aimed at raising the profile of the newly formed youth forum.
Full time youth worker Alan Rowe said: “It was great to see so many young people having fun, they are now calling for regular summer barbecues to be put on the agenda for next year.”
The youth forum gives young people a chance to have their say and put forward plans to help shape the future of the town they live in.
A date has yet to be confirmed for the next youth forum meeting which will be held in October.
