Great Western Railway (GWR) has announced today (Tuesday) it will raise the cost of parking at Yatton Railway Station next month, as part of a raft of price hikes which it says will ‘help’ passengers.
A 4.3 per cent parking fare rise will come into effect on December 11 which GWR blames on rising costs.
Managing director Mark Hopwood said: “While I understand that no-one wishes to pay more, this price increase will help our rail users take advantage of railway provided parking, and will enable further car parking facilities where they are most needed across the GWR network.”
The price hike will also affect users of train station parking in Worle and Weston-super-Mare.
The price to park at Nailsea and Backwell Railway Station will not be effected by the change, as its car park is run by North Somerset Council.
