A YACHT was helped to safety after getting into difficulty near Portishead this morning.
The coastguard received a call at 11.39am saying the vessel, named Pipsqueak, was struggling against adverse weather conditions on its way to Sharpness.
The Portishead independent lifeboat and the coastguard helped the vessel into the marina, where the female pilot was treated by an ambulance crew for the effects of cold water, before being discharged.
