Wrington housing campaigners angered by fresh planning application

PUBLISHED: 08:49 25 March 2017

Campaigners fighting plans to develop an area of Wrington have hit out at a developer’s second attempt to gain planning permission for the site.

Redcliffe Homes applied to build 59 homes off Coxs Green last year.

The application is set to be decided at an appeal, but the developer has now lodged a second bid to build 28 properties at the site.

The Wrington Village Alliance has said the plan is cynical and urged North Somerset Council to reject it.

An alliance spokesman said: “We recognise villages need new homes, but these developments need to be community-led and sustainable.

“We feel they are unfairly ‘gaming the system’ and will challenge both applications.”
