St Peter's Hospice launched the Madmess 5K at the North Somerset Showground on July 24 and will host the event at the same venue on Saturday.

The foamy fun run, suitable for ages three and up, will feature bubbles, a sparkly glitter station and puffs of powder paint.

The race is not timed and the aim is for fun, while also raising vital funds for hospice patient care throughout the area.

Runners will tackle the course in two phases, with the first group setting off at 11am and the second at noon, with registration open from 10am.

The glitter and paint used is also bio-degradable and non-toxic.

The hospice, in Bristol, relies on gifts in wills, donations and fundraising and all of its care is provided free of charge.

To sign up, priced £10-22, visit www.stpetershospice.org.uk/support-us/madmess
