The largest zoo in the South West has launched a new summer scheme for both youngsters and adults.

Wraxall's Noah's Ark Zoo Farm will launch the global adventurer passport on Saturday, which will run until September 1.

Visitors will be given their own passport to complete at the zoo and explore more than 100 sorts of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates living within its ground, including several important species classified as 'endangered' or 'vulnerable'.

There will be interactive activities within the book which focuses on animals, their habitats, conservation and what can be done to help them.

Guests will have their passports stamped by zookeepers after the daily animal talks and will also collect stickers.

Children who complete the scheme can earn a 50 per cent discount on the gate price.

The zoo celebrated its 20th anniversary last month and has more events lined up throughout the year, including venomous snakes of the world shows, African carnival with drummers, dancers and acrobats on World Lion Day and conservation events where guests can get hands-on with pond dipping.

The zoo, in Clevedon Road, will also celebrate world elephant day on August 12, raising money for Elephant Care Unchained, and primate weekend at the end of August to fundraise for Kalaweit, a charity dedicated to the safeguarding of Gibbons and their habitat.

The Times has teamed up with the zoo to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets, and also one family ticket, which comprises of two adults and two children.

Winning tickets can be used at anytime until September 1.
