A road will be closed in Wraxall this week as broadband cables are set to be installed.
Wraxall Hill will be closed on Wednesday to allow broadband provider Gigaclear to install a full-fibre network in the parish.
Villagers have long complained about broadband speeds in the parish but Gigaclear will deliver connections of up to 1Gbps.
Work is expected to take 10 days, during which time alternative routes along Clevedon Road, Flax Bourton Road, Weston Road, Belmont Hill and Bristol Road will be available.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Wraxall and Failand Parish Council is planning to hold a litter pick on the hill during the road closure, but no date or time has been confirmed yet.
Anyone who would like to join should contact the parish council clerk, Tony Jay, on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07741 461982.
