A 10-hour static bike ride has raised hundreds of pounds for a Wraxall children’s charity.

Darryl Galbraith completed 135 miles on a turbo trainer push bike in aid of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), in Charlton Drive, with £524 raised from collection buckets.

Mike Allen, who organised the ride, said: “Darryl and I went to the hospice and we saw first-hand what members of staff go through on a day-to-day basis.

“People were very interested and supportive of Darryl and we are thankful for their generosity.

“I subbed in because Darryl got cramp a couple of times, but he soldiered through.”

Darryl will take part in a 205-mile cycle from CHSW in St Austell to Wraxall in July, stopping off at the charity’s Barnstaple base along the way.
