Training to help save a life in case of an emergency will be held in Portishead this week.

Portishead Lions' Andrew Hill will provide defibrillator training on Friday.

It coincides with World Heart Day, which falls on Sunday.

The demonstration will be held at Elements Hair and Beauty Salon, in Newfoundland Way, from 10am to noon.

Elements will have leaflets and links to maps indicating where the defibrillators are.

A large number of which the Lions have raised funds to purchase, install and maintain in and around Portishead.

Looking after your heart is a subject Natalie Charman, owner of Elements, knows all about.

Natalie was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a heart condition that causes the heart to beat abnormally fast for periods of time, when in her 20s.

She underwent treatment for it and continues to takes medication for it.
