The Congresbury History Group is hoping people can help members discover more about some ancient boundary stones which surround their community.

It wants to learn more about the 31 stones which are dotted around the village boundary and are believed to date back as far as 1796.

The group also wants to learn more about the act of perambulation, which saw villagers annually ‘beat’ the boundaries to ensure Congresbury’s boundaries remained intact and was useful in a time when maps were rare.

Anyone with photos of the stones or information about perambulation can contact Chris Short on 01934 833764, or via email at chriscongar@hotmail.com
