An abundance of colour and strong scents of spring will greet visitors at Portishead Horticultural Society’s first big event of the year.

Organisers this week announced the spring show will take place at the Folk Hall, in High Street, on March 10 from 12.30-5pm.

Prizes will be given out in classes, including photography, plants, art, colouring and more.

A show spokesman said: “I hope we will have plenty of people entering in to the various categories and also hope that members of the community will come along and enjoy the show.

“In addition to all the exhibits there will be refreshments available.”

Show schedules and entry forms are already available in shops. Entry forms must be submitted by March 7 and the exhibits taken to the Folk Hall on the day between 8-10am.

Full details of the classes can be obtained from Jane Pagano on 01275 848984.
