Heavy fog is set to cause problems over the next 24 hours, according to the Met Office.
Forecasters predict visibility will be reduced to less than 100 metres in places when thick fog lingers in North Somerset.
The Met Office has issued a weather warning which will be in place from 7pm tonight (Wednesday) through to 11am tomorrow (Thursday).
Its spokesman said: “Fog patches are likely to form during the early part of this evening, becoming more widespread overnight with the visibility falling below 100 metres in places.
“Fog will thin slowly later in the morning, although some patches may persist into the afternoon in the west of the warning area.”
