MEMBERS of Clevedon’s older generation have their watering cans at the ready for a community gardening day.
On Monday, residents at Bupa’s Elm View Nursing Home in Moor Lane will take part in a Community Crops sow and grow day, aimed at promoting the health benefits associated with gardening and growing your own fruit and veg.
The project is being supported by young people involved in The Princes Trust xl programme and residents have also invited school pupils and community group members to lend a hand with planting.
Elm View Nursing Home manager Irene Parker said: “This is a great way for our residents to appreciate the fresh air, stay active and get a real sense of achievement by tending to the crops and watching them grow.”
