A Wraxall zoo is welcoming a famous face at the weekend to celebrate the opening of its new giant tortoise terrain.

Nigel Marven, who is best known for presenting Walking With Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Park on ITV, will be the zoo’s special guest.

Mr Marven has donated seven giant Aldabran tortoises to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm and will be housed in the new tortoise terrain.

He will open their new home on Saturday and will meet any visitors to the zoo at 1pm.

As well as this, in what will be an exciting week at the zoo, specialist snake handler Pete Blake will be presenting his venomous snake show in the reptile zone.

He will host twice-daily educational talks about the king cobra and the Australian taipan.

He will be there from Saturday until July 28 and will have all the information you need about the world’s most deadliest snakes.
