A leisurely five-mile walk along one of North Somerset’s most beautiful stretches of countryside will be held next week to raise funds.

The Strawberry lion walk - organised by Yeo Valley Lions along Strawberry Line - has raised thousands over the years and will be back for a ninth running on May 19.

In addition to the five-mile option, hikers can also take on a 13-mile walk to Winscombe and back or a 20-mile one to Axbridge and back. Walkers set off from the trail's start in Yatton.

The sponsorship is on a 50-50 basis, with half going to a charity chosen by the entrant, and the remainder to the Lions' selected cause.

Last year's walk raised £1,700 for Springboard Opportunity Group, and scouting organisations have benefitted in the past.

This year, the Strawberry Lion Walk will be in aid of Cintre, which supports adults with behavioural challenges.

Walkers can start between 9-11am.
