COMMUNITY-MINDED volunteers have helped to improve the appearance of an area of Clevedon popular with visitors.
The Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo has begun maintaining flower beds near the Salthouse Fields after North Somerset Council cut its budget for planting across the district.
Some of the responsibility has been taken on by the town council and it has been encouraging voluntary groups to also get involved in the task.
Rotary club member Steve Molloy said: “On Saturday, we picked up rubbish and did some gardening.
“We will now wait until late spring to see what bulbs do come up before then doing any more planting.”
