Egg-and-spoon and sack racing were two of the hotly-contested events at a village’s annual sports day.

Kingston Seymour’s village sports day saw dozens of families brave the grey skies and pouring rain to descend on the sports field in Back Lane to compete head-to-head in events including egg throwing and an obstacle course.

There were also children’s competitions for fancy dress and creating a garden on a plate, which saw budding gardeners use everything from corks and cocktail sticks to colourful flowers to come up with some beautiful designs.

Following the fun and games during the day, villagers enjoyed a barbecue and a few drinks at the Hay Fever social evening.

Yatton-based band, The Penguin Collective, performed to get everyone up and dancing throughout the night.
