GAMES, performances and taster sessions were enjoyed during a day of apple-themed activities in Pill on Sunday.

The annual apple day was moved to the community centre due to the fact the orchard at Watchhouse Hill was waterlogged from days of heavy rain.

Nevertheless, it still proved a success with many people turning out to enjoy apple-themed games, performances by Pill Shark Morris and Pill Whalers as well as a session with storyteller Martin Maudsley.

Organisers, the Friends of Watchhouse Hill, picked apples from the orchard for them to be pressed into fresh apple juice, which could be tasted along with cider and apple foods.
