VILLAGERS in Flax Bourton came together for an annual picnic and rounders event.
The competitive but light-hearted rounders tournament has been held in the village for many years and sees residents, both young and old, taking part.
This year’s event attracted about 50 people to either play or watch, with eight teams entering, including the Magic Roundabout team, made up of young children, and Louis’ Losers, captained by Bristol City football player and captain Louis Carey. The winning team was the Eastfield Boys 1, who scored six rounders.
Money raised during the event held on the village green will be donated to a cause nominated by the family of Phil Lowe, a prominent figure in the Flax Bourton community who died on June 25.
