A DRIVER whose van collided with a woman in Clevedon causing her serious injuries is being sought by police.

The incident happened at 11.40pm on Friday when the woman was crossing Northern Way toward Brookfield Walk when a Ford Transit-type vehicle collided with her.

The impact caused the nearside wing mirror of the van to be left at the scene.

The woman was treated at the scene by ambulance crews and currently remains in hospital with arm and spinal injuries.

Anyone who saw the van, thought to be white or silver, heading along Northern Way toward the motorway roundabout is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Officers are also appealing for anyone to come forward who may have noticed recent damage to a Transit or anyone at a garage who may have been asked to provide parts or to fix the missing wing mirror.
