A vets practice got a big surprise when it took in a homeless cat, only to find it had travelled 75 miles away from home.

Vale Vets in Pill made the discovery thanks to microchip technology which showed Noddy, the cat, belonged to a family living in Exeter.

Practice manager Katie Bull said: “The staff got in touch with the owners who were really relieved to hear he was safe.

“He has gone missing before and they only got him back after two years, that time he had got in a removal van and gone up to north Dartmoor.

“This time he has only been missing a month, so he must have got in a vehicle again. He is one lucky cat and after a few days boarding with the nurse team in the Portishead hospital he was reunited with his human family.”

Katie said Noddy’s adventures showed the value of getting pets microchipped.
