AFTER a light snowfall this morning, the MET office has predicted more this afternoon and has issued a severe weather warning.

The South West has been put on a ‘level three’ alert - warning people of severe cold weather with the risk of snow and ice.

The weather experts have advised people to take extra care particularly while travelling as the weather conditions could lead to traffic problems.

But the band of snow is not predicted to last for long as the MET office estimates it will clear on Sunday morning, turning to sleet or rain.

This could also lead to widespread icy patches forming throughout the day.
