Training sessions for giraffes

A zoo farm is carrying out healthcare-led training exercises with their giraffes to ensure it is providing cutting-edge welfare.
Staff at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, in Wraxall, reward the animals after specific behaviour to develop close relationships and build trust.
This has enabled them to perform medical treatments without the need for sedation or stressful restraint.
Staff hold training sessions with their four giraffes several times a week.
