A REPLICA Olympic torch is making its way across North Somerset in the run-up to the London games.
The Avon Federation of Women’s Institutes has arranged for all 110 of its institutes to relay its own Olympic torch between each group.
On Monday, members of Easton-in-Gordano WI followed a Bristol Balloon Fiesta theme when they carried it along Martcombe Road before handing it over to members of the Portbury group.
On Tuesday at about 1pm the torch will arrive at Tickenham Village Hall by classic car from Clevedon before it travels on to Nailsea.
On May 9 at 11am, Nailsea’s WI group will receive the torch from the Oldchurch Group before it is carried by members on scooters, bikes and foot across the moors to Kenn WI.
