VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help save hundreds of amphibians from being killed as they make their annual breeding migration through Pill.
Every year, toads, frogs and newts migrate from their winter resting sites to ponds and streams to breed.
In Pill, this migration takes place near the Duke of Cornwall Pub and Pump Square where they could risk being run over by cars.
Toad patrols will be set up between 6-10pm when the migration soon starts to collect the creatures and save them from harm.
Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Bristol Zoo’s conservation office on 0117 974 7382 or email mrees@bristolzoo.org.uk
