Tithe barn fund-raising drive
Tithe barn fund-raising drive
SUPPORTERS of the Nailsea Tithe Barn can now sponsor some of the building’s quirky features in a new fund-raising drive.
People are being invited to sponsor one of the many arrow slits, putlog holes, which were used to secure wooden scaffolding when the barn was built in the 15th century, and oak dividers in the floor.
To sponsor an item the price ranges from 200-25 and it is hoped the scheme will help to raise extra cash for the renovation.
All sponsors will receive a certificate of appreciation and have their names recorded in a Book of Recognition.

The Tithe Barn was due to receive a 50,000 grant from English Heritage towards the renovation, but due to Government cutbacks the organisation has since withdrawn the funding.
The Tithe Barn Trust and Nailsea Town Council are now looking for ways to raise the extra funds.
