PHOTOS and memories from the past 60 years were brought together to create a jubilee timeline in Clevedon.

Members of the East Clevedon United Benefice, made up of five churches in Clevedon and the Gordano Valley, organised the event at St Mary’s Church Hall on Saturday to begin a fundraising project to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.

Residents were invited to take along pictures and memorabilia of events held locally and nationally over the past six decades to produce the timeline, which was boosted by a huge collection of Clevedon photos taken to the event by Jane Lilly of the civic society.

The benefice will hold a number of events throughout the jubilee year to help raise money for charity including a skittles night, silent auction and flower festival. On Saturday, a stall selling jubilee-themed items including teddies, bags, aprons and cushions began the fundraising.

Proceeds will go toward Andrew House in Clevedon, the dementia charity Brace and malaria nets through Christian Aid, representatives of which gave talks on Saturday.
