Power boat racing will return to Clevedon next month.

ThunderCat Racing will hold rounds nine and 10 of its national championship on August 12 and 13.

It will see 20 boats do battle while live music will entertain crowds on land.

A spokesman said: “Clevedon won the award for the 2016 Top ThunderCat Venue for its friendly and proactive approach, hosting and funding ThunderCat Racing for the first time.

“The local support headed by Paul Anslow was excellent with local companies sponsoring and one of the largest footfall of spectators during the season.

“So for 2017 we are expecting bigger and better from North Somerset, as they have experienced a taster and now we are back in force.”

There are still opportunities for local businesses to sponsor a boat for the event.
