n SIXTY walkers raised more than 4,000 at a charity walk on Sunday.
The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Nailsea & Backwell, allowed volunteers to walk three, six or 12 miles around the area.
Graham Foster, who helped organise the event, praised sponsors and businesses which helped to make it a successful day.
He said: “We are very grateful to the Scotch Horn Centre for letting us set up there. The staff were very good and very helpful. Everyone has been very kind to us.”
He said the success of this week’s walk meant the club would look to make it grow into an annual event.
