MORE than 3,000 has been raised for good causes following a romantic evening in Clevedon.

A masked Valentines ball was organised by the Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo and put on at the Walton Park Hotel in Wellington Terrace earlier this month, supported by donations from local companies and individuals.

The proceeds will be split between Help for Heroes and Springboard Opportunity Group, which supports children under five with additional needs and has centres in Clevedon and Weston.

Rotary club president Bernard Druce said: “When the accounts are finalised both charities will receive a large donation to continue their vital work. We hope to have raised between three and four thousand pounds.”
