A paedophile from Pill was caught out when he left his phone in a bar, only for dozens of indecent images of children to be discovered on the mobile by a member of staff.
Thomas Bowyer pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of indecent images of children during a hearing at North Somerset Courthouse on July 24.
A bouncer at Ella's Disco Bar, in Weston, found an LTE mobile phone which he assumed had been dropped by a customer at the bar on November 16, 2017.
The doorman saw dozens of indecent images of children on the device while inspecting it, as well as pictures of Bowyer, who he recognised as a former staff member at the bar.
He handed the phone to police at Weston Town Hall and Bowyer was arrested.
Police had also previously discovered indecent images of children on a phone and a SIM card Bowyer had handed to police in relation to a different matter in September of that year.
In total, Bowyer, who lives in Underbanks, was found to have been in possession of 98 indecent images, and three videos of child sexual abuse across numerous devices confiscated by the police.
Several images were also found of girls under the age of 13 wearing school uniform, which though not obscene, were sexual in nature.
The 25-year-old could face up to six months in prison and an unlimited fine.
He will be sentenced by magistrates at North Somerset Courthouse on August 19.
