Archant

Drama workshops saw children from Pill and Portishead act out their wildest dreams of sailing the high seas and flying in hot air balloons to go ‘around the world in 80 days’.

The Story Cellar hosted the free Around The World In 80 Days drama sessions at Pill Community Centre, where children devised their own performance over the course of three days.

The children, aged between six and 11, acted out scenes where they rode an enormous elephant, went up, up and away in a hot air balloon, and tried their hand at sailing around the world.

The project is funded by the Pill and District Children and Young People’s Partnership, which won an £1,000 Aviva Community Grant earlier this year.

The grant enabled the workshops to be put on for free during the summer holidays.

The next workshops with the Story Cellar project will be on October 24 and 25, for more information contact liz@thestorycellar.co.uk
