Dozens of Portishead fitness fanatics have been working hard to raise hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity.

The Hub gym in Old Mill Road encouraged its members to carry out a tough challenge to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Claire Cleeves, The Hub’s owner and personal trainer, told the Times: “On November 11, The Hub gym in Portishead came together with members to take part in a gruelling three-hour fitness challenge in teams to raise money for Macmillan.

“More than 60 people put themselves through events involving burpees, running and rowing with personal trainers, with the top three teams making it to the final.”

The hard work paid off however, with a large amount of money raised for the cause.

Claire said: “The event was a huge success and the team managed to pull in a total of £700 thanks to some help from local businesses who donated raffle prizes.”
