A teenager from Clevedon has come very close to winning the national Brand New Artist competition.

Chloe Witcombe, aged 17, reached the final of the contest, which offers the winner the chance of a £100,000 recording contract, before she discovered she had come third on Sunday.

Chloe, who lives in Crossman Walk, said: “It’s incredible. I never even thought I would get this far.”

She now hopes to write new songs with 18-year-old guitarist Ollie Price which could then appear on a Christmas album featuring a number of the other finalists.
