PIRATES and parrots filled Nailsea Library as children dressed up for a special story time.

The library, in Somerset Square, held a pirate story session for children aged up to six and invited the youngsters to attend in fancy dress.

The event was held to celebrate National Libraries Day.

All libraries across North Somerset put on activities to encourage people to visit.

There was also a treasure hunt for children and a quiz.
