A charity swing dance is to be held in Clevedon next month.

The 1940s-themed Swing for Victory event will take place at the community centre in Princes Road on May 18 and will raise money for Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary in Barrow Gurney.

Guests are encouraged to attend dressed in military or civilian clothes from the era while jazz group The Thornbury Swing Band will provide a perfect period soundtrack.

A swing dance lesson will be held at the start of the evening.

There will also be a bar while a WI stall will be selling tea, coffee and homemade cakes throughout the evening.

The centre also hosted a 1940s swing dance in November in support of the Dig For Victory Show.

The event will run from 7.30-11.30pm.

Tickets, priced £10-12, are available here.
