On July 24 it was no different with more than 40 people beginning the fete at Ladye Bay and ending the swim by the town’s Victorian pier - a distance of about one mile.
Participants ranged in age from just 12 to 77 years old with participants in classes for ladies, girls, men, boys and veterans.
The fastest time was recorded by Stephen Bowen, who finished in 18mins 58secs, and Megan Finnie won the junior trophy with a time of 20mins 2secs.
The Clevedon Long Swim is organised by Clevedon Amateur Swimming Club and has been held in the town since 1928, only stopping during the war years.
