A cancer support group organised a 5km trek around Wraxall to raise money for charity.

The Weston-super-Mare Committee for Cancer Research UK put on the first ever Tyntesfield Trek to raise money for the cause.

The committee has supported the charity for more than 60 years and wanted to take on a new challenge to support a new trial.

Cancer Research UK is holding at trial to find the best way to treat people with cancer of the stomach or cancer of the oesophagus, if they are not strong enough to have standard chemotherapy.

The 5km trek took place on Saturday around the beautiful grounds of National Trust estate in Wraxall.

Becky Trout, from Cancer Research UK’s, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the Weston-super-Mare committee has brought together this wonderful event to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.”
