YESTERDAY’S public sector strikes passed without any notable incidents, the police have said.
Hundreds of teachers, council workers and health professionals took to the picket lines in North Somerset yesterday in a day of widespread industrial action.
But police did not make a single arrest in relation to any strikes across the Avon and Somerset force area, with Chief Superintendent Jon Stratford saying the force had co-ordinated with protest organisers to ensure the safety of strikers and other members of the public and that all major events had been ‘good natured’.
