A RAFFLE held by Portishead’s Co-operative store has raised over 1,000 for two local charities.
Children’s Hospice South West and Bristol Life Skills will benefit from the raffle in which customer Danielle Woods won a 32in television. Tickets were sold in-store and at Portishead carnival, where the store entered a float entitled From Farm to Fork.
The two selected charities are being supported by store events in 2012.
Co-operative staff member Joe Chapman, who presented the prize, said: “This is one of many fundraising activities we are involved in. It’s a great way to get staff and members of our local community working together to help others.”
