ST Katherine’s School in Ham Green has become the only secondary school in North Somerset to be awarded the coveted Sainsbury’s Silver Award for Sport.

The award is presented to schools who provide key stage three and four students with two hours of high quality PE each week as well as an engaging extra-curriculum offer.

Georgina Ball, head of girls PE at St Kaths, said: “We are extremely proud of our success in sport and the large numbers of students who commit to a wide range of opportunities.

“Next year we’ll be going for gold.”
