A number of speed limit changes between Tickenham and the Long Ashton bypass have been proposed by North Somerset Council.

The authority wants to introduce 40mph and 50mph speed limits along the B3128, which runs from Tickenham at the junction with Clevedon Road to the Long Ashton bypass.

A council spokesman said: “This order is for the purpose of avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.”

The planned 50mph sections will run from Clevedon Road’s junction with Cuckoo Lane to a point north west of its junction with Flax Bourton Road and Oxhouse Lane, as well as in Clarken Coombe from the Providence Lane and Longwood Lane junctions to Ashton Road.

There are also plans to introduce 40mph limits to Ashton Road, Tickenham Hill and both the north and south slip roads off the A370.
