Speech and drama performance

KINGSLEY Speech and Drama students have created and starred in their own production to raise money for Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal.

The production, titled Once Upon A... was a 90-minute show at Clevedon Community Centre in Princes Road featuring poems, songs, mimes and pantomime-style short plays written by students aged from five to 11 years old.

Some of the stories written by the students included Santa delivering presents to somewhere spooky, the true story of why a knight was late, chefs having problems with mice and fairy godmothers who bring food to life.

Philip Kingsley-Jones, teacher, said: “It was a marvellous, original piece of theatre, with all the profit going to support the Bristol Children’s Hospital.”
