Son of Clevedon woman killed in van crash thanks community support

The son of a 90-year-old woman who died when a van crashed through the wall of her home has thanked neighbours for their support.

Joan Woodier was on the phone to her son, Alan, when a white Ford Transit van drove into the living room wall at her home in Yeolands Drive at about 8.30pm on April 18.

He said: “The family would like to thank the emergency services and neighbours on the night, and to everyone else for their kind messages and flowers.”

Police have released a 34-year-old woman and 33-year-old man under investigation on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.

They are appealing for information on the incident as well as the van, registration WR65 LNC, which was at the nearby Crab Apple pub moments before the crash.
