A CONTINUAL problem of rubbish being left on roads around Royal Portbury Dock could soon be curbed with the introduction of new bins.
The Times has previously reported on the issue of water-filled ditches and road verges near the dock being left covered in litter and even items including bottles of urine being thrown into undergrowth.
Lorry drivers who stop in the roads overnight have been blamed for the mess and concerns have been raised about the affect it is having on the local environment.
Now, two new bins have been installed in one of the affected roads, Portbury Way, by North Somerset Council and the Bristol Port Company has agreed to empty them on a regular basis.
