Snow predicted for the South West

NORTH Somerset could see snow over the weekend, as the MET office alerts the South West to severe weather conditions.

The weather experts say a band of wet weather will move towards the South West during the day and will turn to sleet and snow over coastal areas.

The cold warning alert is currently set to ‘amber’, cautioning people to take extra care as snow could reach up to 5cm in places.

The MET office has also warned people to look out for icy patches which could develop overnight and this severe weather could lead to travel disruptions.
