SMALL change dropped into collection boxes in Pill has resulted in more than 250 being raised for St John Ambulance in the past year.
The charity has tins placed in pubs and shops around the village in the hope customers will think to donate their small change toward its work teaching people the skills of first aid.
Sally Ecroyd, treasurer for the St John Ambulance Portishead and Pill branch, said: “I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated as that is a lot of money to us.
“It shows that the pennies and small change do add up to something useful.”
